About Me

You’re not failing your dog

If you’re here, there’s a good chance you feel stuck. Conflicting advice, things that haven’t worked, and a quiet worry that you might be getting something wrong. You love your dog, but day-to-day life feels harder than you expected. Walks can be stressful. Certain behaviours feel overwhelming. You may find yourself constantly managing situations rather than enjoying them.

Many of the people I work with hesitate before asking for help, especially after already investing time, money, and energy trying to “fix” things. What they’re really looking for isn’t a perfectly behaved dog — it’s clarity, confidence, and a calmer relationship where everyone can breathe again.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

My experience

Over the years, working closely with dogs and their people, a clear pattern has emerged. Most behaviour challenges aren’t about stubbornness, dominance, or lack of effort. They’re rooted in misunderstanding — about behaviour, emotion, learning, and what dogs actually need to feel safe and successful. I’ve seen how quickly well-meaning owners become overwhelmed when advice focuses only on stopping behaviour, rather than understanding it. And I’ve seen the shift that happens when someone finally feels guided instead of judged. My work is shaped by this real-world experience: recognising what genuinely helps dogs settle, what restores confidence in owners, and what leads to lasting change rather than short-term control.

How I work

Dogs have always been part of my life. Growing up with them, they weren’t projects to manage — they were part of everyday living. As my experience deepened, I began to notice that many common training approaches were missing something important: the dog’s emotional world, and the human’s need for clear, compassionate guidance. When we focus only on obedience or outcomes, we often overlook stress, fear, confusion, and environmental pressure the very things that drive behaviour in the first place My approach is force-free and rooted in understanding rather than correction. It’s about helping dogs feel safe enough to learn, and helping owners understand why things are happening so they can respond with confidence rather than guesswork.

What it’s like to work with me

When you work with me, you can expect clarity, structure, and support.

I’ll help you understand what’s happening beneath your dog’s behaviour, break things down into manageable steps, and guide you through changes that fit real life — not an idealised version of it.

You won’t be left wondering what to do next or why something matters. My role isn’t to take over, but to support you in becoming more confident and capable with your dog. Over time, this builds trust, reduces stress, and creates a calmer, more connected relationship.

Who I work best with

I work best with people who are curious, open to learning, and willing to be involved in the process. You don’t need to be perfect or experienced — just ready to look at things thoughtfully and commit to meaningful change. If you’re looking for quick fixes or minimal input, my approach may not be the right fit — and that’s okay.

Values and standards

Welfare sits at the heart of everything I do. I’m committed to force-free, ethical training that prioritises emotional safety, clear communication, and respect for both dog and human. I value honesty, consistency, and shared responsibility, and I’m always clear about what’s realistic, what takes time, and how change actually happens.
